Chronic Pain Syndromes

Chronic Pain Syndromes:

  • Chronic Pain
  • Neuropathic Pain
  • Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
  • Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD)
  • Fibromyalgia
  • Migraine headaches

Chronic Pain Syndromes can disrupt your entire life, both personally and professionally. Chronic pain is described as pain that lasts longer than six months, and approximately 100 million Americans suffer from pain disorders.

Chronic Pain Syndromes’ pain can be moderate or excruciating, episodic or continuous, inconvenient or incapacitating. Signals of pain remain active in the nervous system for months or even years. Moreover, anxiety, stress, depression, anger, and fatigue interact in complex ways with chronic pain and may decrease the body’s production of natural painkillers.

Ketamine is shown to interfere with the brain’s NMDA receptors and is believed to not only block but to “reset” pain signals, providing relief where other treatments have failed, WITHOUT the use of opioids. Ketamine infusions, by blocking NMDA receptors, allow our patients’ central pain center to “reboot”, thus providing pain relief and helping the patient return to normal healthy functioning.
